KaBOOM! Announces 2006
Playground Opportunities
Deadline: There is no
2006 deadline, but projects are funded—first-come,
first-serve—so applicants need to hurry.
KaBOOM!, a
Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization, links community
groups who want to plan and construct playgrounds with corporate
sponsors.
This
year, the organization says it will link about 150 groups with
sponsors, who usually provide upwards of $5,000 grants as seed
money for playgrounds. Applicants must demonstrate a compelling
need for a new/improved community playground, the ability to
organize volunteers and the ability to raise additional funds.
Recipients must provide a $15,000 match in local funding for the
cost of equipment.
